Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Sergeant in Various. Category No: 115/2017. Vacancies: Districtwise: Kollam – 03 (Three). Scale of Pay: 22,200-48,000/-. Method of Appointment: 1) Recruitment by transfer from any other class, category or service. 2) In the absence of qualified hands under item (1) above, by direct recruitment.. Age limit

18-36. Only candidates born between 02-01-1981 and 01-01-1999 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. Usual age relaxation for SC/ST and other backward communities applies, subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years. Check your age for this post with your date of birth and category

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or equivalent (applicable only for item 3) • Literacy in English (applicable only for item 2) Technical Qualifications: • Six months Police or Military Training (applicable only for item 3) • Working knowledge in Malayalam, or Tamil or Kannada is an essential qualification Experience Required: Must be a pensioned Junior Commissioned Officer of the Army or equivalent in the Navy or Air Force OR ten years Military Service in the Army, Navy or Air Force. Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms (160 cms for SC/ST). Chest: 81 cms with 5 cms expansion (76 cms with 5 cms expansion for SC/ST). Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both eyes. Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both eyes. Must be free from physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable for selection to this post.

General conditions from the notification
Selection is on a Revenue District basis. Candidates already in Government service holding the same post in the same department in any one district are prohibited from applying again. Differently abled candidates are not eligible for this post. Candidates must produce a Medical Certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon Grade II.
