Age Limit

For Scheduled Cast candidates: 20-45 (born between 02.01.1969 and 01.01.1994); For Latin Catholic candidates: 20-43 (born between 02.01.1971 and 01.01.1994). Relaxation in upper age limit up to 43 years as on 01.01.2014 for qualified ministerial staff under Higher Secondary Education Department.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. • B.Ed in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. • In the absence of B.Ed in the concerned subject, B.Ed degree in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. • In the absence of the above, B.Ed degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State Government. Experience Required: None specified, but teachers with 10 years of approved teaching service at High School level are exempted from SET. Physical Standards: Not applicable Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Persons who have acquired M.Ed. in the subject concerned recognised by any University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. Exemptions from SET provided for SLET, NET/JRF, Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed holders, and experienced High School teachers.
