20 – 45. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1969 and 01.01.1994 (both dates included) are eligible. In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 50 years.

Educational Qualifications: • Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. • B.Ed in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed. degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree as specified above, persons with B.Ed. Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorized by the State Government. Experience Required: Not applicable, but teachers who have completed 10 years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education Subordinate Service are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test. Physical Standards: Not specified Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 a(ii) of Part II KS&SSR regarding qualification is applicable for selection to this post. Persons who have acquired M.Ed. in the subject concerned are exempted from B.Ed. qualification. Exemptions from SET apply for Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed holders and those who have passed NET/JRF or State Level Eligibility Test for College Lectures.

The ranked list published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years. Appointment is subject to the conditions laid down in G.O.(P) No. 21/76/PD dated 17.01.1976 and G.O.(P) No.25/94/GAD dated 22.01.1994. Paragraphs two, three and twenty five (except Rule 3(C) of Part II KS&SSR) are not applicable.
