20-40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, and Widows. Relaxation in upper age limit up to 43 years as on 01.01.2019 for qualified Ministerial Staff under Higher Secondary Education Department.

Educational Qualifications: • Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. • B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed in the concerned subject, B.Ed acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed as specified above, B.Ed in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or equivalent. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teachers conducted by Government of Kerala or by the agency authorized by the State Government. Experience Required: Not applicable Physical Standards: Not applicable Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable. M.Ed in the subject concerned is exempted from B.Ed qualification. Exemptions from SET apply for those who passed State Level Eligibility Test for College Lecturers, NET/JRF, Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed holders, and teachers with 10 years of approved teaching service at High School level in General Education Subordinate Service. 5% marks relaxation in Post Graduation for SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates.
