Stream I: Completed 21 years and not completed 32 years. Stream II: Completed 21 years and not completed 40 years. Stream III: Should not have completed 50 years. Age calculated as on 1st January of the year in which applications for appointment are invited.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have obtained a Bachelor Degree including professional course in any subject from a University recognized by a University established by Government of Kerala or UGC or awarded by National Institutes established by the Government of India. Experience Required: For Stream 2: Must be a Full Member or an approved probationer in any Government Department and must not be a 1st Gazetted officer or above. Must have been regularized in service as per Rule 10 (b) in KS&SSR 1958 or served for not less than two years in a supernumerary post. For Stream 3: Candidates holding 1st Gazetted post or above in Departments in Schedule 1 and equivalent posts in Common Categories, with satisfactorily completed probation. Physical Standards: A Medical Certificate of fitness shall be prescribed as criteria for the selection to the KAS. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(b) in the Kerala State & Subordinate Services Rules 1958.

Notes

The rules of reservation of appointment (General Rules 14-17) shall apply to direct recruitment. Provisions regarding reservation for differently abled persons under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 shall apply. Probation is for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years inclusive of training.
