Age Limit
Ezhava/Thiyya/Billava: 30-49 (Candidates must be born between 02.01.1972 and 01.01.1991). SC: 30-50 (Candidates must be born between 02.01.1971 and 01.01.1991).
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications: • Certificate of Competency as Home Trade Master issued by the Ministry of Transport with not less than 2 years experience as Mate. • OR • Certificate of Competency as Home Trade Mate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act 1958 with not less than 3 years experience as Mate. • OR • Certificate of Competency as Second Class Master issued under the Inland Steam Vessels Act 1917 with 3 years experience as Third Officer, Junior Officer or equivalent post in Dredgers. Experience Required: As specified in the technical qualifications (Note: Practical experience is not mandatory for SC candidates at the time of direct recruitment; they shall acquire practical experience after appointment). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)ii is applicable. Government Orders regarding equivalency shall be produced during verification.
Notes
Applications of candidates not belonging to the reserved communities mentioned will be summarily rejected. Rules regarding probation (2 years within a continuous period of 3 years) and tests (Account Test for Executive Officers and PWD Test) are applicable.
