Age Limit
Age 30-49. Only candidates born between 02-01-1966 and 01-01-1985 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for the post. (Including relaxation in para 2 (i) of the General Conditions)
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications: • A foreign going Master's Certificate granted by the Government of India or its equivalent with command experience for one year • OR Must have served as Officer not below the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Indian Navy in the Executive Branch and must possess the certificate of Service as Master (Foreign Going) and not being in the active list there of. Experience Required: Command experience for one year (or) Experience in piloting and/or dredging operation for one year or more (Preferential). Physical Standards: Must be certified to possess the Visual Standard: Distant Vision Right eye V-6/6, Left eye V-6/6; Near Vision Reads 0.6 both eyes; Each eye must have a full field of Vision; Squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or of the lids shall be deemed to be a disqualification but not colour blindness. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
Notes
Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years and pass Account Test for executive officers of the Kerala State and Kerala Port Department Test (Higher Grade) within the period of probation.
