Age Limit
21-39; i.e only candidates born between 02.01.1975 and 01.01.1993 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates. Maximum age limit for Ex-servicemen is relaxed to the extent of service in defence forces plus period of unemployment on discharge up to a maximum of 5 years. Maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications: ā€¢ Literacy in Malayalam or Tamil or Kannada Technical Qualifications: ā€¢ Must possess Current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement of driving Heavy Duty Vehicle and Motor Cycle ā€¢ Driving Licence issued after 16.01.1979 must have endorsement both for heavy Goods and heavy passenger Vehicles Experience Required: Must have three years experience in driving Heavy Duty vehicle either Military or Civil. Physical Standards: Ear: Hearing should be perfect. Eye: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen, Near vision 0.5 snellen, Colour vision Normal, Night blindness Nil. Muscles and joints: No paralysis and all joints must be capable of free movement. Nervous System: Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Candidates should be Ex-Servicemen/Disembodied Territorial Army personnel.
Notes
Selection is on a revenue district basis. Candidates must be prepared to clean and oil the Motor Vehicles. Selected candidates must be able to drive Light Duty Vehicles also. Physically Handicapped candidates are not eligible. A practical test will be conducted; if applications are large, a written test will be conducted. Probation period is 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years.
