30-50. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1972 and 01.01.1992 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. (No other age relaxation will be allowed)

Educational Qualifications: • Certificate of Competency as Second Class Engineer (Motor or Steam) issued by the Ministry of Transport, Government of India or its equivalent • In the absence of candidates with the above qualification, a pass in the four year Engine Room Artificer Apprenticeship Course of the Indian Navy conducted at 'INS Shivaji' Experience Required: Experience for two years as Engineer. In the absence of candidates with the above qualification, experience for 10 years as Engine Room Artificer in Indian Navy. Note: The qualification of experience shall not apply in the case of Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe candidates. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable.

Every person appointed to this post shall from the date on which he/she joins duty be on probation for two years on duty, within a continuous period of three years.
